Looking for a look

I’ve not settled for a “look” for this blog yet, so it’s quite possible it will change periodically. Ultimately I hope I might learn enough about PHP and Wordpress to design my own from scratch, In the meantime, I’ve found this rather nice theme, and aded my own header image.

The photo was taken climbing up the hills into Nazareth on a dirt track. It was hazy, and my hands a bit shaky, because I’d just cycled up and then down Mount Tabor (as seen in the centre of the shot) and the dirt track up to Nazareth was equally hard going.

An "About Me" page

I’ve dithered since starting this blog over whether to include an “About” page. Part of me thinks that people should read the posts, and agree with, disagree with, or simply ignore what I say on the merit of the argument. Equally, I know that context matters, and that that applies as much to the overall stances and situation of the writer, as to anything else.

Articulating what our own underlying presuppositions are can actually be quite difficult, especially when one is, as it were, trying to sum up whole essays in short paragraphs. So if anyone wants to help me clarify what’s on my about page, I’d welcome comments to this post. My statements there, however, are intended as descriptions of my stances (whether defensible or not) not arguments for them.
