Doctor Who does school Latin
One of the rather neat touches (and an insider joke, I think) in today’s episode of Doctor who is the names of the Roman family at the heart of the Doctor’s visit. Caecilius was not only a real figure in Pompeii, but is with his wife Metella and son Quintus at the heart of one of the longest running school Latin courses The Cambridge Latin Course. I can’t recall whether there was a daughter or not, but the dog was called Cerberus.

True, I spotted that too, been a few years since I did the course but made me chuckle!!
Was there any reference made to this in the credits??

Yes, delightful touch. Russell T. Davies talked about it in the Confidential that followed the programme, with a few nice pics.
